Is it possible to connect Zenon with OPC AE by using OPC UA?

    Hi Johnbar,

With the zenon OPC UA process gateway you have the option to provide OPC UA clients, Data Access (live values of zenon variables of the runtime), Historical Access (historical values for variables of the zenon runtime that are configured to be stored in a zenon historian), access to alarms (based of zenon alarms in the runtime) and access to events (based on the zenon chronologic event list). A

Access to alarms and historical alarms and access to the chronologic event list and historic event list, are features that are coming with the next version 8.10

    Best regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Can u elaborate the functions and its connection architecture.

can i use OPC UA for alarms & events as server with OPC client of DA,HDA, UA, AE for anything?

As process gateway, can i use OPC AE for both client and server side. Please recommend me for zenon ver above 8.0.

    Hi Kalandhar3,

You can use the OPC UA process gateway as an OPC UA Server that provides OPC UA clients access to the following information from the runtime:

live values - reading, writing, subscriptions - for variables of zenon runtime projects
historical data - historyreadraw - for variables configured in the zenon historian, from base archives and aggregated archives
events - subscription for an eventnotifier - on a per project basis access to live chronologic event entries
events - historyread - on a per project basis access to historical chronological events
alarms - subscription for an eventnotifier - on a per project basis access to live alarms, with acknowledge capability
alarms - historyread - on a per project basis access to historical alarms

I don't know if this answers your question. Perhaps you can explain a bit more about your use case and what you want to achieve?

    Best regards,
    Mark
