zenOn Logic - speed-up download?

Hi guys,

I would like to know if there is a way to speed-up the program code download from zenOn Logic to the target.

Right now on my development PC with an application code APPLI.XTI / STRATONRT.COD from about 1.2MB, it takes about 40s to download to the localhost PLC...

Hello,

This request was registered and implemented in zenon Logic few years ago, but applications are going bigger and bigger... This has been registered again and should be developed/improved in the next releases.

For the moment, if you are downloading a zenon Logic project on a local target, there is a workaround: you can use the "Post build actions", in the Project's Settings > Compiler.
For example:



COPY "$(P)\APPLI.XTI" "C:\STRATON Tools\RT 9.2 Build 1\t5.cod"

After clicking on the "Build" button, this command will automatically copy the APPLI.XTI file from the project's folder to the t5.cod file in your runtime folder (path must be adapted to your needs)

Then, after connecting to the target, do not choose to download the application if Straton asks for it:
 - Download the application > No      (if the application was stopped)
OR
 - Bad version > Do Nothing!           (if the application was already running)

Then, click on the "Stop/Start button" to start the application (the new t5.cod file will be automatically taken in account then)



Second case: if you are downloading your application on a distant target, thenthe download procedure can be improved… But this is Something to be changed in the source code of the zenon Logic runtime.
If you are compiling your own runtime with the Development Kit, you can ask to the "support.fr@copadata.com" and we will give you more information about that.
