    Frage Webserver in internet environment

I am using webserver in the internet environment. I have installed a firewall for better security and I am opening port 1102 in the firewall for webclient-webserver access. I am not able to get a good communication between webserver and webclient. While if I open all the ports I get a very good and stabilized communication, but it is not safe. Please suggest the correct ports that I need to open for the configuration.

    Hi again!

Port 80 is the normal http protocol port. You need to open it for the html and javascript content from the IIS server.
Nothing is safe on internet! ;-) But port 80 is of least concern.

If you are using http tunnelling port 8080 (default) needs to be open.

The communication between the zenon webserver and zenon (server) runtime uses port 1100. I don't know how your firewall is implemented but for internal communication it has to be open.

    Best regards

    Fredrik

    Hi!

First of all I need to inform you that the forum is not an ordinary support channel. You can't expect an answer in a given time-frame here.
If you need urgent support you have to contact the local support team that you have SLA-support service contract with.

Regarding ports. Is the ordinary port 80 open?

    Best regards

    Fredrik

    Sorry for my impatient behaviour.

No, I have not opened the port.  If I open it, could there be any security issues? is it safe?

Thank you very much Fredrik. I have installed Wevserver on the Zenon RT PC itself. I have opened port 80 and 1102 to establish communication with the Web Client. It is working very fine. I am concerned about the security, or should I go for VPN Tunneling between Server and Client.

    Hi!

VPN is always a good idea when connecting things to the Internet and we recommend it since a SCADA system usually controls something important!
