    Default Web Server Functionality

    Hello,

    Some questions regarding web server.

    1. There are 2 types of web server licensing: Web Server and Web Server Pro. The normal version offers a view only page view, while a Pro version allows operating actions (control). Is it possible to have Web Server Pro but we only allow view only?

    2. In normal HMI page, we used HTML pictures/objects to view web pages from CCTV IP cameras. Is it possible to have the same view on the web pages (thru zenOn web server)?

    thank you.

-> this could be done with using authorization levels. At the WebClient there would be user which do not have the permission to operate SetValue-Elements

-> as far as i know this should be also possible (ActiveX within ActiveX)

    for no 1,
    1. Is there a way to force Web Server Pro to run on view-only mode?
    2. Is there a way to make a user to have permission to operate in the HMI but only view-only mode in web clients?

    thanks n regards

for 1.) no, the webserver pro can not be forced to run as a normal webserver, without the possibility to modify the process.

for 2.) this could be done in a combination with interlockings. You could have a local internal variable (either from the system driver or the internal driver) and the variable for user level or the string variable "current user"

In the interlocking, link the local variable and e.g. the "current user" variable. Configure the interlocking rules to have the local variable TRUE and the "current user" to not "SYSTEM".

Link this interlocking to all elements you want to lock out on the client.

On the HMI only, the local variable is TRUE. If a user logs in, AND the local variable is TRUE, then the element can be operated. (note, that the authorization levels are still valid)

On the webclients this local variable is false, and the interlocking is always active, no matter if the user logs on or not.

Another option, maybe more easy to realize, is to disable temporary login in the project, and use an interlocking with a local variable with the "login" button. Only on the HMI the local variable is true, and therefore the login button can be operated. On the webclients the user can not login due to the login button being locked.

    Thanks Mark for the info.
The last option seems easier to be achieved.

just take care, that you don't lock yourself out

Maybe it is the best to use one of the local DWORD variables of the sytem driver variable, which value can be defined in the zenon6.ini file. This way each new client which connects has the value "0" (no modification of the zenon6.ini file) and the HMI has the appropriate value for the interlocking.

check out the section in the help for the loca dword variables.

    [LOCAL_VAR]
    ID_DWORD_1=value

note, that this way a user will not be able to login. Any buttons having a password level which the user must also be able to access in the webclient, must be modified have no password level.

Thanks for the great tip, Mark.
    We'll try this out.
