if you are using the project attached in the training: this zenon project contains also zenon Logic project and starts it automatically, thus on proper system you would have the well functioning IEC 61850 communication with locally running "digital twin" of an 850-based intelligent device (IED). On your PC, in parallel to your zenon project there should also run the zenon Logic application (additional Windows program started automatically while zenon project start) with the IEC61850 Server - your IED. I suppose this additional application cannot start. The most common reason is when on your PC already another program is running and occupies the TCP/IP port 102. The IEC 61850 protocol uses by default port 102 for MMS (Client-Server) communication. But there are manufactures using exactly this port for own purposes. You can check using cmd: netstat -a who blocks this port and then terminate the conflicting application. Or, you would have to reconfigure in zenon iec850 driver (client) and in zenon Logic IEC61850 Server driver, to use not the port 102 but some free port, maybe 103 etc.

It's working great now. Just active and run runtime of the demo project, then close, as you adviced. Did not come to my mind it could be this one.
Thank you very much for your explanation and help Ursulak.
