    Default Extended trend module question

    Hello!
I would like to have buttoms for different time filter in the ETM picture, as 1hour, 1day ,1week, 1month.
    Is it possible
Today i use a picture switch to open new ETM picture with different time filter, but i have to re choose which variable i want to see.
We have around 60 variable in 5 diffrent ETM picture.
    We use 6.20 sp4.

you can use different picture switch functions to open the same ETM picture, but just with different content. If you don't need a completely different layout (different bg picture, different colors, different texts, different standard buttons / ETM buttons etc.) in the ETM picture, there is no direct need to have more than 1 ETM picture.

Just use picture switch functions (use copy and paste in the function list to keep the settings of the function, and only change a minor detail, e.g. show last day instead of last hour) to open the one ETM picture with different time settings.

You can also have the user choose online at opening the picture, which day or which week he wants to see, through a calender control.

    Hello!
Today we have 5 ETM Picture, it`s the same Picture with difffrent variable availabel 15-20 per ETM picture, after counting we have 105 variable that we ar logging.
When we open a ETM picture we have the 3-5 most importent variable displayd, 24h time axis.
In the ETM picture we have 4 picture switch to open the same ETM picture with diffrent time fillter, 8h, 24h, 1Week, 1Month, and the Time axis buttom.

We also tried to use the profiles but it`s become a very long list of difftent profiles because the number of variable.

Is it possible to change time axis after choosen the variable to display, Without having to make changes in the time filter dialog ?

This depends a little on your archive configuration. I you have configured archives with data reduction (following archives), you would have to change archive while changing the time period, if the "raw" data from the basic archive is not kept as long.

Generally you can use the "zoom +" and "zoom -" buttons to change the time scale without using the dialog. If these are not in your picture yet, you can implement these by adding them in the editor through the "control elements" menu, when you've opened the ETM picture.

Another way you've already implemented, would be using different picture switch functions.

Using different profiles is also possible, but you have tried that as well.

The solution you'll be needing, I think, will be coming with the next zenon release, zenon 6.50.

Here it is possible to create a picture of the type "time filter" which can be opened parallel to the ETM picture and allows changing time-settings without the need to open the dialog!

Also the profiles will be enhanced in zenon 6.50, allowing e.g. a user to return to the ETM picture and show the trend settings the way they were when the user left the picture.

We've heard before that the dialog is too "complicated" for users. This is one of the reasons why the time-filter picture was implemented in zenon 6.50. You can actually choose the pictures this time filter works on. This way you can display a trend, the audit trail, alarm list, etc. with the same time settings and adjust it centrally, without the need for different dialogs.

Did you know, that you can use bitmap buttons with graphics (easier for users) in the MDI picture ETM instead of the buttons with text?

Just delete the button for e.g. "zoom +" and draw a new bitmap button with the graphic of your choice. In the properties window you can choose the "picture specific function" "zoom +".

If a picture specific function is grayed out in the selection window, this means that there is already a button in the picture with this function linked. (only one allowed)

Is there still daylight in Sweden this time of the year at this time of the night?

    kind regards,
    Mark
