    Hi Jurij,

Have you tried explicitly starting the x64 Version of Internet Explorer and setting the security settings in the internet explorer options for the 64 bit Version?

Not sure if it makes a difference, but it may be worth trying.

    Best regards,
    Mark

This is what I would try first. You might get the same issue when you open the IP camera page in the 64 bit Internet Explorer Version.

To start the 64 bit Version of IE, start iexplore.exe from c:\program files\.. instead of c:\program files(x86)\...

    Hi Mark,

I forgot to mention - the 64 bit IE10 is opening the cameras OK.
    The problem is something else.

    Hi Jurij,

did you check on the solutions given in the Microsoft forum I mentioned on the last page?

"1. Open internet explorer, click Tools – Internet Options .
    2. Click the Security tab – Custom Level button.
Under ActiveX ensure the following are set to enabled
Run ActiveX and plug-ins – Enabled
Download Signed ActiveX Control – Enabled
Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting – Enabled
    Set the following to “Prompt
Download unsigned ActiveX Control – Prompt
Initialize and script ActiveX controls not mark as safe – Prompt
    3. Click OK and Apply and OK. Restart the browser."

ONLY if the settings above didn't help! You could also try:

In the IE go to tools, internet options, Advanced, down to security section, check "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid."

Note that these settings are security features of the IE - and deactivating them can increase the risk of malware/virus infection (If you are browsing the web with this machine) !

    Regards,
    Konstantin

    Hi Jurij,

If the suggestions posted here do not help, it is probably best to contact your local COPA-DATA support. In that case it would be helpful if this issue can be reproduced in a test environment.

Do you have this issue on multiple systems?

    Best regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

    It has been a while,

I installed a fresh PC with Zenon runtime and tested the Web camera operation. I managed to reproduce the same problem on ZENON and even on IE10!!

Then I decided to test if it works with Google Chrome.
When I connected in Chrome to the WebCam, it gave me the message that it is blocked, because the Java is old and suggested installation of fresh Java.
After installing Java Version 7, update21 the camera operates on Chrome and on IE10 OK, but in Zenon stil the problem remains.

    Dear Mark,

I think the problem is in IE10.
Whatever I do, I am unable to run the IE10 in 64 bit mode.
All the settings for Internet Options you suggested are done in 32 bit IE10, no mater from which direcory I start the IE.

I can see this in Task manager under processes - tha active process is the IE10*32, no mater from which folder I start the IE!

If there is another set of this parameters for 64 bit mode, which is relevant for Zenon run time 64bit, then I am just unable to get to them so I could set them.

I have tried different thing to start IE10 in 64 bit mode but was not able to do it.

If someone knows how is possible to set those parameters - this would probably solve the problem.

    Best regsrds!

    Jurij.

    Hi Jurij,

    I did some googling.

It appears that the visible part of IE10 (the tabs) by default runs as a 32 bit process, even when you start the 64 bit iexplore.exe executable. The manager process of IE may start as a 64 bit application.

According to microsoft this is to achieve greater compatibility with 32 bit plugins.

So the first question to answer probably is, do your camera plugins for the browser come in a 64 bit version?

You can enable an option "Enable Enhanced Protected Mode" (which requires a restart of the computer) to enable the 64 bit IE.
