Default Read Date & Time from Time Attribute on IEC61850

    Hello,

I would like to read date and time from variable and display it in numeric field.I am using IEC61850 driver.
I have tried to do this by mapping the time attribute of that specific variable. When I import the variable in zenOn the data type it is showing is LREAL. The value it is showing in the run-time is difficult to interpret.
I have also tried to do this by using Allocation. In the allocation source value of this variable was transferred to internal variable having data-type DATE & TIME. But still I could not see the exact value in the Run-time.
I have tried to read the time attribute of the same variable on different IEC61850 client software where it is displaying the correct date and time.
What steps I need to following to achieve this in zenOn?
    Thanks.

    Hello salmanhassan2,

I would like to read date and time from variable and display it in numeric field.I am using IEC61850 driver.
You can read this Data-attribute easily by simply using a Clock element assigned to .t DA.

    Are you aware of this?

Attached a sample project to zenon 7.00.

Please let us know if this helped you.

    Best regards,

    Hello David,
I did not know this. But thanks, It was quite easy. I have checked the date and time stamp by modifying the value of variable in zenOn logic. I will check it will real time IEC61850 Server also. I believe there won't be any problem. Thanks for the prompt response.

During import zenon creates all LREAL variables with default value range -1000..1000 and no decimal places. So for variables with t-attributes i would recomend you to change the value range to 0..2147483647 and also maybe to set Decimals to 3 - for milliseconds. But note that the clock element does not show milliseconds, to display in a screen also milliseconds you will have to use additional numerical element placed (and partialy hidden) under clock element.

The easiest way to give for all t-variables correct value range is:
    1. create new simple datatype e.g. "iec850_UTCTime" basing on LREAL
    2. change its properties in Value calculation group for value range and value adjustment range to 0..2147483647, and eventually decimals from 0 to 3.
    3. multi-select all t-variables and change the variable property Data type from LREAL to iec850_UTCTime.
