    Default Visual Basic Debugger

    Hello,

    really basic question.
Why does not the VB Debugger stop at the breakpoint?

Scripts are being correctly executed, but the debugger won't stop
at the breakpoint. I know the scripts are being executed, because the
    MsgBox() function is being called.

The only time debugger pops up and I can see execution line is when there
is an error in the script.

How to "attach the debugger" to the runtime?

    Regards,
    Jure

    Hi Jure,

The VBA editor that you open in the zenon editor to design a VBA macro cannot attach to the VBA code that is executed in the runtime.

In order to debug your code in the runtime you need to open the IDE in the runtime.

Please create a zenon function "show VBA IDE" and link this to a button. When you open the VBA IDE in the runtime, you may notice the difference in the window title, indicating that now the IDE for the runtime is opened.

(zenon runtime files are compiled, the VBA that is executed in the runtime is not the VBA that is used when the VBA IDE in the editor is opened.)

When you open the VBA IDE in the runtime, breakpoints that you set should hit.

You could also write "BREAK" in your VBA code in the zenon editor VBA IDE, and when the VBA macro is executed in the runtime, it will, depending on your settings, open the VBA IDE and break at this line.

    Hope, this helps

    Best regards,
    Mark

Thank you, I will try this when I get back to Zenon :-)
