Different drivers in one structure datatype

Hello!

I have logically joined variables that i want to combine into one structure datatype. This variables are connected to different drivers - iec104, internal and math. As I understand, structure-type based variable can be attached to only one driver. Have you some solution for my case?

Hi,

You are right. A structure variable can only be linked to one driver. All structure variable elements are automatically assigned to this driver. It is not possible to have one structure variable element linked to one driver and another structure variable element linked to another driver.

One way of "grouping" your variables is through the variable name. This allows easy substitution, and also better handling in symbols. When filtering or sorting in the detailview you get your variables "grouped"

sw1.maintenance (internal variable)
sw1.counter (math driver variable)
sw1.command (iec870 driver variable)

You can multi-select copy / paste, and then use "replace text in column" to replace e.g. "copy 1 of sw..:" with "sw2" to create a new "instance" of your "structure"

We already use copy-paste method for this "structure".
Just looking for more object-oriented representation of variables. May be we will simple replace base types in our "structure" with pre-configured child types (with remas, flags and so on), to change them centrally.
