can you open the *.chm file with anoter program another then zenon?

where is your *.chm file located?
Because, only help files added to the project under "Files/Help" are available for use.

I assume the function is linked to the button, sometimes with the drag& drop I think but in fact it isn´t. Check in Runtime, press right mouse button down for more than 2 seconds on the button in the zenon screen, then you get the function linked displayed.

Also make sure, you define the chapter, including the extension ".htm" at the open help function

You can find out the chapter by right clicking in the .chm file and choose "properties" to see the chapter .htm file

    Hi wolfgangm and markclemens,

    Wow...Thanks for the reply

The chm file is located in

    C:\Program Files\COPA-DATA\zenon 6.51 SP0\HELP\ENGLISH\main.chm

I can just open this help file by double click it in my window explorer .

Yep, and the main.chm is added to "Files/Help".

    Here are my print screens:

    Hi Whitetaru,

.chm files consist of chapters, which are referenced by a name (usually the file name of the .htm file that was used to build the .chm file)

You need to define a help chapter (jump target within the .chm file) at the "open help function, otherwise it does not open the .chm.

So please try and use "main.htm" as the help chapter at your "open help" function

This will open the help in a seperate window.

However if you would like to embed the help in a zenon screen, that is also possible!

You can create a screen with the name "Html-Help" of the type "html" and add the "navigation" control element only. You can place this in a popup frrame, to be able to move it around.

See the online help for more details
