    Default Attribution : Nice solution for machines variables ?

    Hello, I have a question about "Attribution". We've an idea to our project.
    I would like to make an attribution for machines variables to intern variables.
    That could be a great solution to avoid some problem when I use machines variables as limit...
    I wonder if making lots of attribution for machines variable could use lots of memory ?
    Machines variables come from drivers : IEC61850, SNMP, OPC-CMS, Beckhoff

    What do you think about that ?

    Thank you for your answering.

    i do not know any "Attribution" in zenon .
    Do you mean "Allocations"?

    Just to know the background of your question: what problems in use of machine variables as limit you see?

    Sorry, Allocations is the good word ;
    To avoid manipulation of all machine variables when we want to test some fonctions in our project. (We have 18 project with each more than 200 machine variables).

    Do think that could be a good idea ?

    I think for such aim the best idea is to use driver simulation programmed in straton. What zenon version are you using?

    Or you can turn the variables from the parts of your system you want to test to alternative values and then you can play with them without influence the real system.

    I suppose with allocations you are trying to reach the same as alternative values already give and with programmed simulation you could easy reach much more.

    Variables definied in an variable allocation as source or trigger are automatically advised at the driver for the whole time zenon runtime is running.

    Note: Regarding the memory usage of the SNMP driver there was an issue (memory leak) which have been corrected in the newest version of zenon.

    Herbert
