IEC60870 101/104 variable

Is there any difference between IEC60870 104 TCP/IP and DNP3 protocols? When I am using IEC60870 104 TCP/IP protocol I can't receive command processing. Should I create new variable (tag) additionally on Zenon?

Protocols? Many differences. What does the Wikipedia tells about those protocols?

Me neither . There is noting called "command processing" in the papers of this protocol. Or you mean the zenon Command Processing module? This module is common for any communication protocol and zenon drivers. It is to send commands and process the results, not to receive commands. In the context of this module I'm not able to understand your statement.

Or you mean the IEC 60870 commands, so the communication from controlling station (e.g. from zenon) to the controlled station (e.g. to RTU / IED)? In the control direction, by definition, you can send a command, but not receive. The reception is only in the monitoring direction, e.g. to acquire the current position of a circuit breaker. In the IEC 60870 protocol the commands are 'write-only' and the monitoring information 'read-only'. This means e.g. that by online import of new zenon variables the iec870 driver can create monitoring variables, but not the command variables. It is technically not possible to "ask" the device about the addressing of commands (no way to read this via communication telegrams). You have to take this information from the manual of the device and create the variables manually. This limitation caused by the protocol specific is documented in the driver's help.

Thank you for your response. After your answer, I just found out how to ask my question. Yeah, I mean the IEC 60870 commands. I imported variables by online, but command variables did not, just like you said. Then I'm asking, how to create command variables (e.g. Type 45) manually?

yes, manually. With addressing like documented in the manual of the device.
